Carleton’s Indigenous Veterans and Remembrance Day Ceremony
On Nov. 8, Indigenous Veterans Day, and Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, Canada honours the soldiers who have served and sacrificed for our country. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Carleton will mark these occasions at a
Remembrance ceremony. The service begins at 10:55 a.m. at the flagpoles on Library Road near the Azrieli Theatre. Members of the Carleton community are encouraged to attend and observe a two-minute moment of silence at 11 a.m. 

The Centre for Student Academic Support
Learning and writing support is available through the Centre for Student Academic Support. You can: 1. 
Book one-on-one appointments for learning and writing support. 2. Drop in for help with study strategies, time management, and writing assignments. 3. Access self-paced learning and writing support workshops through Brightspace.

Our Own CGRS-Master’s Scholarship Information Session
Graduate Studies is hosting a virtual information session about the CGRS-Master’s Scholarship Competition on Nov. 12. This session will provide an overview of the eligibility criteria, application process, and key timelines. Following the presentation, there will be an open Q&A period for attendees to ask questions and receive guidance on preparing a strong application.

Mini-Course Program: Instructor Proposal Application
The Mini-Courses Program (MCP) provides students from grades eight to 11 a one-week enriched learning experience at Carleton. The Undergraduate Recruitment Office is looking for enthusiastic graduate students who are interested in teaching a course during the first week of May. Find more information and the application process on 
the MCP website. Applications close Nov. 15.

Nov. 7
Last day to withdraw from late fall term courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal).

Nov. 15

  • Last day to request formal exam accommodations for December full fall, late fall, and fall/winter examinations to the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities.

  • Last day for academic withdrawal from full fall and late fall courses.

Nov. 25
Winter Payment Deadline

Nov. 28
Last day for graduate students to submit their supervisor-approved thesis in examinable form to the department if defending their thesis this term and applying for Winter graduation.

Nov. 30
Deadline for students to apply for Winter (February) graduation. Apply for graduation in Carleton Central. 
(Carleton University cannot guarantee approval of Winter 2026 graduation applications submitted after the Nov. 30 deadline. A non-refundable fee of $60.00 will apply to all late applications.)

CIHR and SSHRC staff will be present at all sessions.

These sessions will be hosted as live Q&A MS teams meetings. Before attending a session, participants must read the relevant program description, watch the tutorial videos on the NSERC YouTube channel and come prepared with questions. Participants are welcome to attend any of the sessions. Registration is not required to attend a session.

Tri-Council Agencies deadline for master's programs is Dec. 1.

 

 

Influenza and COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

Carleton Health Services is offering flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics on:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon

Clinics are in the Carleton Technology and Training Centre, suite 4100. The clinic is open to Carleton students, staff, faculty and contract staff.

Appointments are available to book using the Collaborative Health Record (CHR) Connect app or the CHR Connect website. 

Please select the presenting issue of “COVID Vaccine,” “Flu Vaccine” or “COVID and Flu Vaccine.”

You must complete your consent forms in the health questionnaire sent to you at the time of booking.

Please note: vaccination appointments are also available at community clinics and local pharmacies regardless of citizenship or immigration status, even if you do not have an Ontario health card.

Neuroscience Colloquium Series

On Friday, Nov. 7 at 11:30 a.m. in Health Sciences Building, Room 1301, all are welcome to attend a presentation titled, The claustrocortical circuit in acute and chronic pain. 

University of Alberta Professor Anna Taylor, Canada Research Chair in Pain and Addiction, and the Alberta Cancer Foundation Chair in Palliative Care, will be presenting.

Carleton Communications Graduate Caucus 2026 Graduate Student Conference

The Carleton Communications Graduate Caucus (CGC) is calling for proposals for their annual conference to be held from March 5 to 6, 2026 at Carleton. The CGC conference is an exciting opportunity for graduate students to present their work to an audience, receive valuable feedback from various research communities, and foster their own professional development. The 2026 conference theme is, Flux: Communication in a Rapidly Changing World. 

Application period: Deadline for proposal submissions is Nov. 15.

National Student Paper Competition

The National Student Paper Competition is an opportunity for Canadian graduate students to analyze current Government of Canada priorities and recommend innovative solutions to senior officials and submissions are now open! 

Application period: Oct. 8, 2025 to Jan. 30, 2026.

UHIP for International Students

The University Health Insurance Plan is mandatory for all international students studying or working at Carleton. You would have received an email from Cowan (check spam/junk folders) with details on how to access your UHIP e-card.  All plan details at www.uhip.ca and www.carleton.ca/go-isso/uhip. If you have the Ontario Health Insurance Plan or other provincial insurance, UHIP is not required!

Multidisciplinary Approaches in Language Policy and Planning Conference

The 2026 LPP Conference will be organized jointly between Carleton University (Department of French, School of Linguistics and Language Studies) and the University of Ottawa (Faculty of Arts, Research Chair in Language Policy and the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI)). The conference will be held from June 17 to June 19, 2026.

The Call for papers for our next Conference is now open! You have until Nov. 15 to submit an abstract.
