Omicron—How Many More Letters Are There?

PASTOR'S BLOG

In answer to the question about the Greek alphabet, there are a total of 24 letters, with Omicron (transcribed as an “o”) as #15 in the alphabet, and just eight letters away from the last letter, Omega. Of course, nobody’s interested in the Greek alphabet—but everybody is wondering how many more variants will there be to the deadly COVID-19 virus that has crippled this planet and has (through its Delta variant) stricken our own Berrien County.

Familiar Tradition Returns on Christmas Day

December 25  •  9:00–10:15 AM
Pioneer Commons

The good news is the Pioneer Safety Committee has given us a green light to once again enjoy our annual Christmas Breakfast in Church, this year on Christmas Day (safety measures).

The same delectable breakfast of breads, muffins, and pastries, with breakfast casseroles and hot/cold cereals, and plenty of fruit and fruit juice will be served. But for the pandemic, our special events volunteers will be masked and gloved—and all who attend will be masked and the tables appropriately distanced. But even so, a festive Sabbath morning it will be together.

Please bring your favorite breakfast items to share with the rest:
A - G—bread, muffin or pastries;
H - P—breakfast casseroles or hot/cold cereal;
and Q - Z—fruits.
And "God bless us, everyone!"

Andrews Academy
Feast of Lights

December 10  •  7:00 PM
Pioneer Memorial Church

Andrews Academy will be presenting the 48th annual Feast of Lights program. The community is invited to attend this spectacular night of music, Scripture, and drama honoring the King of Kings. It is an evening of lights, bells, instruments, choral singing, congregational singing, shepherds, a Nativity scene, and the retelling of a glorious Christmas story. Chorale and Orchestra will end the program with the Hallelujah chorus. The church sidewalks will be arrayed in Christmas lighting. The program will speak to your hearts of His wondrous love.

Thank You!

Thank you to all who braved the weather on Sunday, November 14 to participate in the Village of Berrien Springs Shamrock Spruce-Up! 18 of the 24 volunteers who came out to show love on the move were part of the Pioneer team. Participants were out for around four hours, raking, blowing, and bagging leaves in yards all over Berrien Springs. It was a blessing for everyone involved!

Local Church Budget

And [Jesus] looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had." Luke 21:1-4 Donny and Johnny were the youngest of 7 children. Their family wasn't blessed with an abundance of money, but there was more than enough love to go around.
