Date confirmed for metered lights at Paremata
From Monday 1 July road users can expect a new layout at Paremata roundabout, with metered lights in operation at the northbound approach to the roundabout.
In a first for the Wellington region, the lights will stagger the flow of northbound traffic into Paremata roundabout, improving access and safety, and reducing queues for southbound and Park and Ride traffic.
The lights will initially be operating from 4pm-6pm on weekdays, but will only be triggered once southbound or Park and Ride queues reach a certain length.
It's going to take users a while to adjust to the new layout, so we are asking everyone to patient while people get used to the lights, and to remember that give way rules will still apply at all times.
