Dear , Congratulations on a fantastic first week of games this past Sunday! It was truly inspiring to see our players giving their best effort, supporting their teammates, and demonstrating leadership skills as they honed the fundamentals of basketball. The smiles, laughter, and positive energy on and off the court made it clear that everyone had fun, regardless of the final scores. Thank you for making Week 1 a great success! You can view the scores and standings for the Juniors and Seniors Division by clicking on this hyperlink Schedules & Standings (the schedules section has the official scores of the games). As we prepare for Week 2 games on Sunday, January 12th, I want to take a moment to address two important items to ensure our league runs smoothly and continues to reflect our values of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. 1. Arriving on Time for GamesIt is critical that all players arrive at the gymnasium 30 minutes before their game start time. Players need this time to appropriately warm up and coaches are required to submit their player rotation sheets to the scorer's table 10–15 minutes before the game begins. If a player is late and not with her team at this time, she cannot be added to the rotation sheet, which causes several challenges:
Additionally, coaches are permitted to limit playing time for players with unexcused tardiness or absences from games or practices. However, players cannot be disciplined for excused absences if the coach is notified in advance (e.g., conflicts like Ski Club on Wednesdays). Timeliness is about more than just starting on time—it promotes leadership values like responsibility, respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Please ensure your daughter arrives 30 minutes early, ready to warm up and play. 2. Wearing the Full UniformAll players must wear their complete uniform to games, including the designated team jersey and matching shorts. This is an NFHS rule, and we had a few players last Sunday who wore different-colored shorts. Unless there is a significant sizing issue, all players are required to adhere to this uniform policy. For players in the Juniors and Seniors Divisions, please note:
This is because many of our teams have similar colored jerseys due to manufacturer limitations with jersey colors. Referees have requested home teams wear the white side of the jersey to make the game easier to officiate. Click this hyperlink to check the game schedule on the league website to confirm whether your team is the home or away team before arriving at the game. Thank you for your attention to these important details, which help us maintain the organization and integrity of our league. We are looking forward to another exciting day of basketball this Sunday and can’t wait to see all the players back on the court for Week 2! Thank you for your continued support, and let’s make this season an incredible experience for everyone.
Take care, Shawn Daly |
