Important Update for Residents and Families: Further positive COVID-19 cases identified at Calvary Gympie Views

Further to our last communication, I am writing to inform you that 2 further cases have been detected amongst our Brennan Unit residents at Calvary Gympie Views. This follows a round of testing completed today, 31 January 2022.

The number of positive cases at Calvary Gympie Views is now seven (7) residents. Staff are in contact with the COVID positive residents’ families and keeping them informed.

For the safety of residents and to help stop the spread of infections, the current restrictions remain in place and the residents are isolating and receiving all care in their rooms.

A further round of PCR testing will be conducted across all residents on 3rd February 2022. We will be in contact as soon as these results become available.

We are continuing to liaise closely with the Public Health Unit as to when the current restrictions can be eased. We anticipate our next update to you will be towards the end of the week, or as more information becomes available.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.

Please contact the home to book a video call with your loved one, or if you have any concerns. Care packages for your loved ones may also be left with security. Please label them clearly.
