We Mourn the Passing of John "Jack" Swantz

We mourn the passing of John "Jack" Swantz, an early member of St. Matthew UCC. Jack and his wife, Mary Lou, helped raise funds for St. Matthew's first piano. They moved back to South Bend, IN, where Jack lived until his death. He was 99 years old.

Did You Know? The Keith Evans Fund

We recognize that from time to time people in our church might find themselves in difficult financial circumstances--that is why for many years we have relied upon the Keith Evans Fund. The Keith Evans Fund is a fund specifically for folks in our congregation who may have special financial needs. The fund is distributed confidentially and is there for our church family.

Jesus said, "Come to me all you who are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest." If you find yourself in need of such funds, please contact Pastor Kyle.

Mask Policy 3.2.22

As you know, the state of Illinois and the CDC have updated masking guidelines, which is a hopeful sign for us all. At this time, in consultation with Pastor Kyle and Council, we request that masking remain in effect for Sunday services and Sunday School participants (children and teachers). As a church, we want to lean toward a position of protecting our neighbor and providing a comfortable environment for all as guidelines transition.

We continue to ask that people remained masked through the end of March. At that time, assuming that DuPage County remains in the low transmission rate and local policy remains the same, we will reevaluate.

For committee meetings and other group gatherings outside of Sunday services, we will leave it to the group to decide how they are most comfortable.

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers as we continue to welcome all and keep each other safe.
