Thank you to Lisa and Phil for their generosity, we are lucky to have people like Lisa and Phil in our community. Year 6 Legacy Mural - Over the year the Year 6 students have been working with Mrs Watson and Rachael Carrington on a legacy piece. The students made a stunning mural of our countryside. We are grateful to have Rachael Carrington to help our students learn about mosaic design and application. Thank you also to Sean Hemeter for giving up his Saturday morning to install the magnificent artwork. Nativity and Sign - A beautiful nativity, made by Cravenmade, has been installed underneath the cross on Binney St and Keith Johnson has given our old sign a facelift and re-installed. We hope to illuminate the light so it spreads Christmas joy. Accounts - 2021 school fee accounts must be finalised tomorrow 1st of December as per your childs enrolment contract. Religious Education Week 9 Prayer The word Advent originates from a Latin word “Adventus” which means “coming” or “arrival.” Advent Season is focused on preparing for the coming of Jesus Christ. Advent is a meaningful season that reminds us of the reality of Jesus Christ and that He has come, and He is present in our world and lives. The birth of Jesus is worth celebrating because it reveals His human side and is therefore an example of how we should live our own lives as his followers here on earth. TO SEE A LITTLE I used to pray: God, teach me your ways. Now I pray: God, that I may see a little. This is because I came to understand that God is teaching me different ways all the time – but I don’t see them. There are miracles of God’s works and signs of God’s ways all around me and in me. I have to learn to focus properly or, perhaps, to look in the right direction. I only really have to see a little. God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep His commandments. Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me. Still, He knows what He is about. Saint John Henry Newman This is the season of His coming; night is far gone, the day is at hand. It is time to wake from sleep; for the Son of Man comes at an hour we do not expect. His coming is the advent of saving love. Come, Lord Jesus. His coming is good news for the poor, freedom for captives, sight for the blind, liberty for the oppressed, and acceptance for the unacceptable. Come, Lord Jesus. Then shall the lame leap like the heart, and the tongue of the dumb sing for joy. Come, O come, Emmanuel.
