The Remutaka Hill road will be CLOSED for maintenance works from 9pm this Sunday night (10 November) to 4am Monday morning (11 November).
Further 1-5 block night closures are scheduled for later this month (24 November - 29 November) and in the new year. We'll keep you up to date with these closer to the time.
The night-time closures will increase safety for maintenance crews, significantly reduce the number of daytime disruptions for road users on the hill road and enable better quality of maintenance work.
Access will be available for emergency services throughout the closure.
If you have an urgent need to travel to Wellington this Sunday night, a limited shuttle service is available. Please email remutaka@nzta.govt.nz before 5pm Wednesday 6 November.
