SH22 Drury upgrade

Project update

18 August 2025

Project update | He pānui

This year we have been working on design and consenting to complete the 'pre-implementation' phase of the project, which is needed before 'implementation' (i.e. construction or delivery) can get underway.

The project's regional Resource Consent applications were lodged with Auckland Council on 28 July.  They have asked us to provide additional information which we are preparing.

We are also preparing an Outline Plan of Works (OPW) for delivering the project within NZTA's SH22 designation and Auckland Transport's designation at the Jesmond Road intersection.  The OPW will provide the detail needed to confirm our works are in accordance with the purpose of the designation – in this case for road upgrade activities - and will be submitted to Council in early September.

We are progressing the Detailed Design for the project and will complete this in October.  Construction works are expected to begin early next year.
