Celebrating 80 Years of NRB

This weekend, we mark a special anniversary: 80 years since the founding of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) association.

On September 21, 1944 at Moody Memorial Church in Chicago, Ill., NRB was established by a visionary group of Christian broadcasters and church leaders. Under the leadership of William Ward Ayer, NRB rapidly expanded, establishing a foundation built upon unwavering commitment to ethical standards and the free and open exchange of Christian content across various media platforms.

As we reflect on our rich history, we thank God for the ways that NRB has played a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the Gospel through Christian media, and we commend our dedicated members for their tireless efforts.

Christian broadcasters have a unique privilege and position as ambassadors of Jesus Christ to a troubled world. As we celebrate this milestone, let us recommit ourselves to using our platforms and partnerships to share the timeless message of salvation.

When we gathered together for the NRB 2024 Convention in February, we celebrated NRB's 80th anniversary with a special mini documentary which shares the history of NRB and highlights the importance of every Christian communicator’s voice.

“As we celebrate NRB’s 80th anniversary, we see God’s providence toward NRB in the past and in the future,” said Troy A. Miller, NRB President & CEO at the NRB 2024 Convention. “As NRB’s history makes clear, we are stronger together.”

October 7 Gathering in D.C. to be a Day of Remembrance, Solidarity

A solemn, yet uplifting commemoration will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, from 12:00–3:00 p.m. on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to mark the anniversary of the tragic attack on Israel, honor the innocent Israeli lives lost, and remember those still in captivity.

Organized by American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI), Generation Zion, and The Philos Project, the gathering will serve as a poignant tribute to the resilience of the Israeli people and their unwavering fight against those seeking their destruction.

In April, a group of 157 Christian leaders, including NRB executives and members, came together under the banner of ACLI to express their concerns to President Joe Biden regarding the administration’s stance towards Israel in a letter. Signatories included NRB president & CEO Troy A. Miller, NRB executive vice president Dr. Linda W. Smith, and several NRB members.

This Oct. 7 event presents an opportunity for the American Christian community to show Israel and the Jewish people that they are not alone in their grief or their fight for survival. The presence of Christian leaders at this important event will send a powerful message of solidarity, support, and encouragement to the nation of Israel.
