COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families at Calvary St Francis
I am writing to inform you that unfortunately one (1) additional resident has tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary St Francis since our last communication to you. This brings the total number of cases to twelve (12) and all positive residents continue to isolate and receive care in their rooms.
In line with Public Health Unit advice, a further round of testing was conducted this morning 21 April 2022 and no further cases were found.
In accordance to Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, visitation to Calvary St Francis re-opened on Thursday 14 April 2022. There are, however, specific requirements to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible.
Information for visitors during an outbreak

Visitation to Calvary St Francis is permitted to one fully vaccinated visitor per resident, per day.

We kindly ask that you book your visit with us for now. To make a booking, please contact 4942 7477 during business hours Monday to Friday (if you wish to visit during the weekend, please book during the week).

Visiting hours are from 11.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm with last entry to the home permitted at 4.00pm. This is allow adequate time for rapid antigen testing (RAT testing) prior to entry. Once in the home, visitors may stay longer than 4.00pm.

All visitors will be supplied with the appropriate PPE (including face masks and shields as appropriate) to wear whilst visiting.

Visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.
We will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to remove the current visitation restrictions. We anticipate our next communication to you will be early next week.
