Heads up: detours from next week

Detours will be in place from next week for construction work, so please allow a little extra time for travel. All detours will be clearly signposted.

The following areas will be affected:

Weedons Interchange

Nightworks will be underway and detours in place from 8pm-6am on:

  • Tuesday 27 October - Weedons Road, just south of the southbound roundabout will be closed
  • Wednesday 28 October - Weedons southbound off-ramp closed
  • Thursday 29 October - Weedons northbound on-ramp closed.

(No change to traffic travelling over the Weedons Bridge.)

Halswell Junction Road

From 6pm Sunday 1 November - 6am Monday 2 November:

  • Halswell Junction Road off-ramp closed - use Shands Road off-ramp
  • Halswell Junction Road Bridge closed to eastbound traffic (detour: Springs Road via Wilmers Rd/Awatea Rd/Dunbars Rd/Halswell Rd/Nicholls Rd and back onto Halswell Junction Road)
  • The citybound on-ramp will stay open.

From 6pm Monday 2 November- 6am Tuesday 3 November:

  • Halswell Junction Road will be closed westbound at Denali Street (detour: Denali St/Richmond Ave/Whincops Rd/Marshs Rd/SpringsRd back to Springs Road Roundabout)
  • Springs Road Roundabout will reduce to one lane overnight.

Shands Road Interchange will be fully operational and unaffected by these traffic changes.

'New' Marshs Road

From Wednesday 28 October, the 'new' Marshs Road will be one-way with detours in place for two weeks.

  • Closed to eastbound traffic from Wednesday 28 October
  • Closed to westbound traffic from Thursday 5 November.

Also, plan ahead, slow down and drive to the conditions for a safe Labour Day weekend.
