Click here ![]() The Great South Update May 2022 This is a difficult message to write as it is the first newsletter since the tragic loss of our Chief Executive Graham Budd.We would like to thank everyone for their kind tributes, flowers and also the offers of support, many which have been shared with Graham’s family. All make a difference and are hugely appreciated by the Great South team. The Great South board met last week and it was agreed that I would step into the Chief Executive position in the interim, while we work through next steps. I will remain as Board Chair during this interim period. Naturally our primary focus is on the welfare of our team and communicating effectively with our stakeholders. On that note, we are pleased to be back working out of our Invercargill and Te Anau offices and it is great to have everyone together again after such a disruptive period. Graham was involved in a number of key projects across the region, so I will be taking the time to get across the details of those projects and meet with key stakeholders to ensure momentum is maintained. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any matters that you had discussed with Graham that may need my attention. We are all celebrating the opening of our borders to international visitors and it is important to us all that Southland is on their itinerary! This is very good news as we all navigate our way towards a new future.
