Experimental filmmaker and indie game developer Theo Jean Cuthand joins Western as the new Indigenous artist-in-residence, bringing expertise in Indigenous cinema, decolonization, queer identity and video game design.

A transformative gift from Perry Dellelce, BA’85, LLD’22, and his family has established the Susan, Perry, Taylor and Nicholas Dellelce Strategic Priorities Fund to bolster student entrepreneurship, teaching and research. In recognition of their generosity, Western's bookstore has been re-named in their honour.

Earth sciences professor Livio Tornabene is part of an international research team that has identified the origins of Martian meteorites, shedding light on the red planet's history and evolution.

Look through telescopes, talk to astronomers and ask questions about the different types of CubeSat missions at the next Cronyn Observatory public night. No registration required.

Western farmers market  

Support local businesses every Wednesday in the open space in front of McIntosh Gallery. Listen to live music while you pick up fresh fruits, plants, veggies and baked goods.

Registration deadline: AI for health and social justice 

Join colleagues from a variety of industries to find common ground, build connections and explore opportunities for collaboration. Co-hosted by Research Engagement Collaborative Alliance with Partners (RECAP) and the Rotman Institute of Philosophy, the event will feature a panel discussion, break-out sessions and a networking lunch.

Registration open: Western Engineering Beginnings for Black Youth (WEBBY) 
This free program provides elementary and high school students with hands-on engineering activities, mentorship opportunities and leadership skill development. If you or someone you know has a teen in grades 9 to 12 who identifies as Black, the high school cohort remains open for registration and runs for four consecutive Saturdays beginning Sept. 14.
