New road layout - work on the cul-de-sac to start next week

Kia ora

Next week (week starting Monday 20 February) we'll begin work to make the northern end of West Melton Road into a cul-de-sac.

We'll be working on West Melton Road from the new link road north to the intersection with Weedons Ross Road.

It means vehicles will no longer be able to access Weedons Ross Road/SH73 from West Melton Road but will be able to use the new link road and Weedons Ross Road to get to SH73.

Access for residents living along this stretch of West Melton Road and to the West Melton Domain will be maintained.

The work includes new kerb and channel, footpaths, construction of the cul-de-sac road and landscaping.

The cul-de-sac is part of the final design (see plan below) and its completion will be a milestone for the project.

Thank you for your patience.

Ngā mihi (Kind regards)

The project team

Please look out for our staff and follow their instructions. Footpath access around our work site will be maintained.

Also, please look out for changes in traffic management and follow signs on site. A 30kph speed limit will be in place.

Driveway access

Access to properties will be maintained. However, we may need to work in front of driveways from time to time. If you need to get into or out of your property and we are in the way, please just talk to one of our friendly staff and we will make sure you can use your driveway.
