Pai mutunga! E rere kau ana ngā mihi maioha ki ngā kura katoa.

While the final make-up of the new government may take another two or three weeks to reveal itself fully, today we had confirmation that it will be a three-party coalition rather than a two-party coalition.  We will be very interested observers of the horse-trading.

Once the landscape is a little clearer, we will need to engage with our sector, content creators and platforms to reset and map a pathway forward. We intend to undertake this wānanga process before the end of the year so that the fruits of those conversations can feed into our briefing to the incoming government, any budget bid that is made for the sector, and our planning documents for the next three years.

Keep an eye on our website and social channels for notice of the wānanga.

Regarding funding rounds, the joint NZonAir/TMP round is the last big round for the financial year. The RFP will be published, and the round will open early to mid-December. The round will remain open over the Xmas/New Year break and close sometime in February. Again, watch our website and social channels for more information.

Last month, I gave an early heads up on our Xmas/New Year closedown. In case you missed it, here it is again. The last Board meeting for 2023 will be held on Thursday 14th December. The office will close on 22nd December, with the last payment runs being made on Tuesday 19th and Thursday 21st December. The office will reopen on Monday, 15th January 2024, with the first payment run being made on Wednesday, 17th January.
