We'll be back in town next week

Kia ora

We would like to let you know that we'll be back on Monday, for the week, to follow up on recommendations from the project's post construction safety audit.

We engage independent safety auditors to look over a project once it is complete and has been operational for a while. The safety auditors make recommendations for minor work that improves safety.

Our contractor, Fulton Hogan will carry out these minor works at various sites in the project area, at differnt times during the week. There may be several sites operating at the same time, however the sites will be small. Although most of the work will be off the road, please watch out for any traffic management that might be in place.

The work includes some minor kerb and channeling, installing grab rails at the roundabout for people walking or cycling, more signage and symbol marking across the project area, and greening cycle paths.

Landscaping was completed during the winter as planned.

You might recall we mentioned that we would be back in the summer to do a final scheduled coat of chip seal. This is normal practice, we apply a first coat, let it bed in for at least a winter then apply the second coat of seal and refresh road markings over the whole site. This work is scheduled for pre-Christmas for part of the project area with the balance scheduled for the New Year.

Ngā mihi (Kind regards)

The project team
