Creating a healthier WA: Our year of impact

This past year, Healthway has not only grown— we've deepened our impact across WA.

We've continued to drive meaningful change through strong leadership, smart partnerships and world-class research. We’ve worked across systems to create healthy environments, empower people to make healthier choices and influence policy to reduce barriers to health and wellbeing.

From arts and sport to community and research, our high impact partnerships have helped us reach more people throughout the State. And we are building on this momentum by continuing to look for new and better ways to create a healthier WA together.

We're proud to share our achievements and some of our success stories in the
2024–25 Annual Report.

East Wanneroo Primary School received a Healthy Schools grant for 'Walk & Talk', which includes a regular walking club for students and nutrition sessions for staff to better understand the connection between food and mood.

Schools at the heart of wellbeing in WA

From Esperance to Ellenbrook to Fitzroy Crossing, Healthway is boosting student wellbeing from the ground up.

Through our Healthy Schools Program, 60 schools across WA have received funding to deliver projects that support the health and wellbeing of their students and school communities.

The schools have begun rolling out their initiatives, creating environments where every student feels supported, connected and ready to thrive.

Explore the full list of funded schools and discover how we’re creating a healthier future, one school at a time.

Crunch&Sip® hits the big 2-0

What began with just six primary schools in WA’s Great Southern has grown into a statewide movement, now embraced by 560 schools and more than 173,500 students. Thanks to this incredible uptake, WA primary school children are eating an additional 31.8 million extra serves of vegetables or fruit each year.

This month, Healthway and Cancer Council WA celebrated Crunch&Sip®'s 20-year milestone with Parliamentary Secretary for Preventative Health Emily Hamilton MLA, who helped unveil the program's new mascot, Crunchy!

This is more than just an anniversary. It’s a tribute to generations of WA kids, parents and educators who have embraced healthy habits and inspired positive change.
