Drilling into the road surface on SH94 to determine ground conditions for resilience improvements on the Marion hill (just prior to the Hollyford Road).The aim is to reinforce the adjacent wall and supporting structure of the highway to make it more likely to withstand an earthquake or landslide.

Southland highways with work this week

SH1 Invercargill to Bluff

Invercargill to Dunedin

SH93 Mataura to Clinton: Road surface repairs will take place at various locations from 12 to 14 January between 8am and 5pm. Plan for delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH1 Allanton: Road sealing will take place on 13 and 14 January from 6am to 7pm. Expect delays of about 5 minutes.

SH1 Dunedin Fairfield southern motorway night closure: The southbound lane will close overnight from 12 to 14 January between 8pm and 6am for essential road surface replacement work. A detour will be in place via Fairfield off-ramp, Old Brighton Road, Main Road and Saddle Hill on-ramp. This could add 5 to 10 minutes to your journey.

SH1 Dunedin Green Island southern motorway night closure: The southbound lanes will close for essential road surface replacement work from 18 to 22 January between 8pm and 6am. A signposted detour via Green Island along Main South Road will be in place and is suitable for all vehicles. The detour may add 5 to 10 minutes to your journey.

 

 

 

 

Invercargill and Queenstown to Milford Sound

SH6 Athol/Five Rivers highway at Jollies Hill: Maintenance sealing to improve the road surface will take place on 15 and 16 January between 6am and 5pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH94 Te Anau to Milford Highway (at Sinclair Road): Road rebuild work will continue until 31 January from 7am to 6pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

 

 

 

Work on key state highways across Southland

SH1 Invercargill to Bluff: Chipseal resurfacing at various locations until 14 January between 8am and 6pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH90 near Gore: A road rebuild will continue Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm until around 31 March. Traffic will be managed by temporary traffic lights with a 30 km/h speed limit.

SH94 Waimea Highway between Croydon Bush and Otamita: Road surface repairs will take place from 12 to 14 January between 8am and 5pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH96 Winton/Wreys Bush highway at Heddon Bush Road: A road rebuild will continue until around 31 January from 7am to 6pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH96 Winton/Hedgehope highway: Work at Zwies Road for a highway rebuild will continue until 31 January from 7am to 6pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

SH99 Wallacetown and Riverton Orepuki highways: Road surface repairs will take place from 12 to 16 January between 8am and 5pm. Expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
