Western signs national charter to fight anti-Black racism in higher ed

Western has joined other Canadian universities and colleges in signing the Scarborough Charter on Anti-Black Racism and Black Inclusion in Canadian Higher Education. The charter prescribes four principles that should guide universities and colleges in policy making and action: Black flourishing; inclusive excellence; mutuality; and accountability.

Nine Western alumni have been named among Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2021. The women, leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, are being recognized for empowering and championing others.

New study makes sense of sensory processing in autistic children

Results of a recent study by psychology professor Ryan Stevenson and BrainsCAN postdoctoral fellow Nichole Scheerer on sensory abilities may have positive impact on the way supports are provided to autistic children and help increase their quality of life.

Helen Luckman, MEd’82, and Jack Cowin, BA’64, LLD’00, are being inducted into the Western Mustangs Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 19. Two Mustangs teams, six athletes and two builders will also be joining the ranks of Mustangs Hall of famers this year.

Course feedback period is now open
Each term, students have the opportunity to provide feedback on their courses. For most courses this term, the course feedback period runs from Nov. 18 to Dec. 9.

Celebrated musicians Scott St. John and Angela Park will perform Nikolai Medtner's “Two Canzonas with Dances”, Op. 43 for violin and piano. They will be joined by graduate students violinist Frangel Lopez Cesena, violist Rachel Miner and cellist Ethan Allers for a performance of Medtner's captivating piano quintet. This concert is sponsored by Madeline and Thomas Lennon and will be livestreamed from von Kuster Hall.
