Hello International Students of the Class of 2026!
We hope you have been enjoying the specific population events the past two days! Below you'll find more information about today's events. Events marked [M] are mandatory.
For today’s weather, we're expecting a mostly sunny and hot forecast, with a high of 90 degrees. Stay hydrated, grab a bottle of water at our Peers Helping Integrate New Students (PHINS) hospitality booths!

New Student Orientation Schedule is Live!
The New Student Orientation (NSO) schedule is packed with events that prepare you for your Penn career! Take a peek at some of the many programs that you have to look forward to this week. If you have any questions, be sure to reach out to your Peers Helping Integrate New Students (PHINS) Orientation Leader who will guide you through the week. International Student Welcome Session/ISSS Student Resources
Meyerson Hall B1 | 10am-12pm
Dr. Rudie Altamirano, Director of ISSS and Director of Immigration and Integration Services, will provide a welcome presentation on the life of an international student in the US.
Hub@Penn Expo & Campus Express
Houston Hall | 10am-3pm
Come to your “one-stop shop” for essential resources and services for all Penn students.

Penn Libraries Showcase

Explore Penn’s main library which serves as a hub for group study and research.
Introduction To Penn's Vibrant Cultural Resources
Annenberg Center, Zellerbach Theater & Lobby | 1pm-2:30pm
A panel of student, parent, staff, and alumni voices will highlight the comprehensive offerings available through Penn’s six cultural resource centers.
International Student Tour De Penn
College Green | 1:30pm-4pm
Compete in a group race that will show you the locations of various resources on campus – rumor has it that you might be able to dunk your iPHIN at the last stop…
President And Provost's First-Year Family Welcome
College Green & Penn Commons | 4pm-4:45pm
First-Year families join President M. Elizabeth Magill and Provost Beth Winkelstein at the steps of College Hall, followed by a light dinner.
Mandatory College House Meetings [M]
Various Locations | 7:30pm
Student attendance required for College House meetings and activities with House staff. Check with your RA, House Coordinator, or House Director for more info.

Don't forget to sign up for some of the optional activities our team has planned for you throughout the week of NSO. Read more about PennTracks Tours and Preceptorials and sign up below! Since all PennTracks Tours will be happening at the same time, please only sign up for one slot. There is a new tour available so take a look at what we have to offer! Sign ups for Preceptorials close TONIGHT, August 24 at 11:59pm.
West Philly & University City Tours
West Philadelphia and University City: Along with the Penn Campus, your new Penn home includes the West Philadelphia and University City areas! We encourage all first year students to take a tour of one of these areas on Friday, August 26 so that you can get familiar with the surrounding area around campus and your new community! Please make sure to doublecheck your Penn Violence Prevention (PVP) circle time on mynsoschedule.com so that you don't sign up for a tour during that time. We encourage sign ups in advance to ensure enough tour guides but we will welcome first years to join us the day of as well.

First-Year families join President M. Elizabeth Magill and Provost Beth Winkelstein for remarks at the steps of College Hall, followed by a light dinner.
Daily Rewind - Tuesday 8/23
Today was the second day of specific population move in!
President M. Elizabeth Magill welcomed students to campus during her First-Year Move-In College House Visits. Of course, she had some help from our Penn Quaker!
Students and their families were able to walk through Houston Hall and learn about many different organizations throughout campus at the Hub@Penn Expo.
The shopping trip event took the students to buy necessities for their first year experience.
Students played games and had some light refreshments at the Game Night and Mini Carnival.
TAP Phase Two is Live!
TAP Phase Two is live!
You will not be required to complete a quiz during this phase of TAP. However, this content must be reviewed prior to your mandatory in-person PHINS Orientation Group Meet-Ups and NSO programming where attendance will be taken. Failure to attend these small group activities could result in a registration hold being placed on your student record.
Dining Café Hours For Wednesday, August 24
Dining café hours throughout the week of NSO can be viewed through the Penn Dining website here. Dining hall options for today include: McClelland Sushi & Market, Lauder College House, English House, Falk at Penn Hillel, Hill House, and 1920 Commons.
