Launched today – B-cycle Scheme Review Consultation Paper The Battery Stewardship Council (BSC) has today released the B-cycle Scheme Review Discussion Paper, a key component of the ongoing Scheme Review process. Representatives from industry, government and other organisations are invited to provide written feedback on the Discussion Paper and take part in consultations scheduled for July 2024. The Review of B-cycle recognises that market changes and the evolving risk profile of batteries necessitate adaptations to the Scheme design. By implementing these changes, B-cycle aims to achieve its mission of establishing a circular economy for batteries in Australia. On behalf of the BSC Board, we thank you for your partnership and input to the details provided above. Your input, creative ideas, and future thinking is needed to refine this approach as we move forward in the transition to a sustainable future. Once feedback is received, BSC will refine the proposed Scheme design and conduct further consultation as needed. The final approach will be informed by industry feedback and subject to approval by the BSC Board, and the authorisation of the ACCC, with a view to launching B-cycle 2.0 in July 2025. The deadline for feedback is Friday, 2 August 2024 Take part in our July Consultations A series of consultations, a key component of the Scheme Review process, have been announced for Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane in July 2024.
