Staff COVID Policy Update No images? Click here Wednesday 19 January 2022 Dear Colleagues, Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and emergence of the Omicron variant, Calvary is proposing to amend the existing Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy to include a third vaccine dose (“booster”) as a mandatory requirement by 31 March 2022 to be considered fully vaccinated. Vaccination Pay, in outlined circumstances, is also proposed to be applicable for booster doses for those administered after 24 January 2022. Calvary is also proposing to create a new COVID-19 Leave Policy that provides for paid COVID-19 Leave if you are required to isolate as a close contact for up to 7 days (or less if the isolation period of close contacts changes again). Based on feedback, we are also amending the support for those employees still covered by Single Site Restrictions in Calvary’s Aged Care and Disability Care services by reviewing how to maximise affected staff’s hours and maintain the service of absent employees. We invite all employees to visit our COVID-19 Policy Consultation Page for copies of these proposed policies, a set of frequently asked questions on the proposed policies, and an online form to provide any feedback you may have on either policy. We trust these changes will be uncontroversial and welcomed by all of you. Yours sincerely, David Izzard Head of People Founded in Australia in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation.
