Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

RE: COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families of Calvary Mt Carmel Retirement Community

Further to our update this morning, we are pleased to inform residents and families that we have received a negative official PCR result for the Calvary Mt Carmel resident who initially returned a positive Rapid Antigen Test following an outing. This means we are able to lift the precautionary lockdown restrictions at our Calvary Mt Carmel aged care home.

Are visitors allowed?

Calvary Mt Carmel will reopen to visitors from tomorrow, Saturday 1 January 2022.

Please be advised that in line with Calvary’s recent visitor update dated 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours, due to the heightened risk of infection and consistent with the latest government directives. This will be in place until further notice.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the manager of your home to discuss arrangements.

What happens now?

As a precaution, our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for any symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.
