Burnley BID trial new safety scheme with Town Centre Wardens Burnley BID has recently introduced a brand-new safety scheme seeing Town Centre Wardens patrolling the town. Helping to tackle antisocial behaviour and here to support our town centre businesses and shoppers, the wardens will be on patrol seven days a week over a four-week trial period throughout April, where we can assess the current customer experience and safety within the town centre. Discover Burnley Live – last chance to get involved! As Burnley Live fast approaches, this is the last opportunity for businesses to get involved in this fantastic town centre-wide event! Guaranteeing a long weekend of music, dance and community spirit, this event is currently packed with appearances and performances from a range of musicians and bands, showcasing some of Burnley’s most popular venues and destinations. From hosting your own event or an exclusive offer over the weekend, there are lots of ways your business can be involved. Burnley College Retail Work Placements Does your business accept work experience placements? Burnley College currently have two young people in the Burnley area looking for retail placements. The placements are needed until 28th June, where they can work 3 days a week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You will be supported by tutor Sarah Rattigan and the young person will be a free employee. All they ask in return is that you give them an opportunity. Burnley is one of the 55 towns in the Long-Term Plan for Towns regeneration programme, with £20 million of Government funding available. A Town Board of local community leaders and employers will draw up a long-term plan over the next few months setting out a vision and plans for the future of Burnley, and they want to hear you! Mystery Shop Update The deadline has now closed for the mystery shop scheme. Please take note that mystery shoppers will be visiting businesses throughout April and May. After all visits have taken place, the BID will be provided with a report to share with participating businesses. Further information will follow over the coming weeks so please keep an eye out for further updates. We have two new business openings! We’re pleased to announce the opening of two brand-new businesses in the town centre. Guaranteeing a culinary experience like no other, Tribeca promises to elevate your pizza and cocktail game while offering a fun-filled atmosphere complete with shuffleboard and pool. Located on St James Row, the unit was previously home to The Mix, a popular bar and nightclub, and has been transformed by Kyle Ellis, the mastermind behind Ellis’s burger bar on Manchester Road. New discount store, One Beyond, has also opened its doors at Charter Walk Shopping Centre. Previously trading as One Below, its first store opened its doors in 2019, with the brand now trading in more than 100 stores nationwide. Offering more than 5,000 product lines, ranging from food and beverage to home and beauty, the brand offers customers high street products at low prices, perfect for those looking to save money on their shop.
