Lisa Sullivan, associate dean for education and professor of biostatistics, was recently invited to join the Council on Education for Public Health, the independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education that accredits schools and programs of public health at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.
Debbie Cheng, assistant dean for data science and professor of biostatistics is the new director of BU's AI Development Accelerator, which fosters a comprehensive and coordinated approach to integrating AI across the university's mission. Cheng was also named co-chair of The Providence/Boston Center for AIDS Research, a joint research effort between Brown University/Lifespan and BU/Boston Medical Center aimed at reducing the global burden of HIV infection.
Carlos Rodriguez-Diaz, chair and professor of community health sciences, has been named associate director of The Providence/Boston Center for AIDS Research.
Meredith Brooks, assistant professor of global health, was selected to receive the Early Career Investigator Award of the North America Region of the International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases. Brooks will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Feb. 26 at the 30th Annual Conference of The Union-North America Region in Philadelphia.
