Community open day

Story
Story

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part in our open day yesterday.

We really appreciate the level of community interest and the valuable feedback we received on the three bridge replacement options for Pepe Stream Bridge.

Throughout the afternoon we had more than 70 people visit us and the response was similar to our recent email survey sent out to residents – with the community overwhelmingly in favour of making the bridge two lanes and having a safe path for walkers and wheelers.

There is still time to have your say

If you weren’t able to make it along yesterday – we would still love to hear from you!

Have a look through the information, then email your feedback to coromandel@nzta.govt.nz

We will be taking feedback from the public until Wednesday 25 August at 5pm.

What’s next?

Once we have gathered all feedback, we will work through the final stages of the business case process. Once that process is complete, we will be able to share the most appropriate option with the community. This is likely to be later this year.

When can we expect to see a new bridge?

Funding will need to be approved before we can move into the design and then construction phases for a replacement bridge.

We are committed to keeping the community well informed as we progress and encourage you to share this newsletter with anyone you think might be interested in providing feedback, or who missed the open day.
