Countdown to the Customer Service Awards

Taking place on Saturday 21^st September from 6.30pm at Burnley Mechanics Theatre, the evening promises to be a fantastic night of celebration, acknowledging the hard work you all put in on a daily basis to make Burnley what it is. The award ceremony will recognise everything that is fantastic about Burnley Town Centre, the businesses that operate here, and most importantly, the great customer service that you and your team members deliver continuously to our community.

Important Summer Update - Operation Centurion

Operation Centurion has seen Lancashire Police officers walking on duty for an additional 14,000 hours in hotspots across the county, and this summer the scheme will be making its way into Burnley Town Centre.

Addressing anti-social behaviour and helping to keep our town family friendly and safe over the summer months, this operation will provide policing seven days a week.

Police and Crime Commissioner Summer Survey

Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner, has launched his Police and Crime Plan Public Consultation.

This survey is an opportunity for everyone who lives, works and travels in Lancashire to share feedback on crime and policing, as well as the proposed priorities in the PCC's draft Police and Crime Plan 2024- 2029.

As the public's voice in policing, the Commissioner wants to hear from as many people as possible to ensure that the Police and Crime Plan reflects the views of the people of Lancashire, and therefore would appreciate if you were able to share the consultation as appropriate.

Funded Business Growth Programmes for Burnley Companies

If you’re a business based in the Burnley area, did you know you may qualify for funded business support through Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub?

This has been made possible through a strategic partnership between Boost and Burnley Council. 

Four of the fully-funded support programmes available for Burnley businesses include: 

1. Growth Catalyst: A programme designed for established businesses, trading for over three years, that are looking to take their business to the next level.

2. Scale to Thrive: A programme designed for ambitious businesses over £1million in turnover aspiring to grow 20 per cent year on year.

3. Flying Start: A programme that helps people grow a young business or start a new business.

4.  Access to Finance: A service giving Lancashire businesses looking to secure investment, seeking a loan or planning an acquisition access to a team of funding experts.

There is also the Business Support Helpdesk, offering advice and guidance on available local, national and sector business support and a Business Advice Service, which matches a business with an adviser and includes a business review, a business support action plan, business clinics and regular updates.

Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, has supported over 14,000 businesses since 2013 and is led by Lancashire County Council.

All programmes are funded by Lancashire County Council, Department for Business & Trade (DBT), and UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) allocations from ten Lancashire local authorities including Burnley Council.
