Preparing for a Successful 2025
Welcome to the winter term—and if you’re new to Carleton, welcome to the community! The start of the term is always busy and there is plenty to do to prepare for winter term courses. Read our tips on preparing for a successful winter term and information on academic resources, maintaining your wellness and staying informed this term.

Ask Me – We’re Here to Help
Look for faculty, staff and student leaders wearing red Ask Me buttons to get all your questions about campus and Carleton answered at the start of the winter term. If you’re not sure about where your class is, how to navigate the tunnels or where to go for lunch, just Ask Me!
Student Registration Assistance Team
Need help with registration, building your timetable or navigating Carleton Central? The Student Registration Assistance team is available to help with winter term registration from Monday, January 6 to Friday, January 17, 2025. The team offers in person, email and phone assistance from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
O-Train Line 2 Re-Opens
The O-Train line 2 has re-opened with a phased return to service.
Use your U-Pass to take the train to campus.
Join the Carleton University Board of Governors
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Carleton University? Join the Board of Governors for a Board 101 Information Session and learn how you can make a real impact on campus governance while building your professional network. The sessions will cover the vital work of the board, how your involvement can drive change and eligibility criteria.
The Residence Desk is Hiring!
Looking for an on-campus job this summer or next academic year? Apply to work at the Residence Desk! There are both part-time and full-time positions available for students living on or off campus. Apply through eRezLife by noon on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Campus Safety Services is Hiring Students
Campus Safety Services is now accepting applications for casual security guards for Student Safety Patrol positions in the 2025-2026 academic year. These part-time roles involve light security duties and a chance to engage with the campus community.
Career Services has lots of employer info sessions coming up in January! This includes a session with Konrad (a digital consultancy firm), an Ottawa 67’s STEM recruitment event and a networking event on navigating careers in mental health.
Kick Off the Winter Term with Frost Week
The Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) has partnered with the Rideau River Residence Association and the Campus Activity Board to bring you Frost Week, a week full of fun. Join CUSA for a games day, carnival day, bingo, karaoke night and more!
Enrol in Multi-Factor Authentication
To enhance the security of the Carleton University community, students must enrol in Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA). All students have been sent a prompt to set up MFA when they log into Microsoft 365 services using their MyCarletonOne password. If you have not yet accessed your cMail or Microsoft services, please do so and enrol in MFA as soon as possible.
ISSO Offering Services Virtually
Due to scheduled office maintenance, the International Student Services Office (ISSO) is offering services virtually. Members of the ISSO team are available in-person in the Student Experience Office in 430 Tory Building from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer questions and get you connected to services and supports.
Winter 2025 Kinàmàgawin Indigenous Learning Certificate Registration Now Open
The Kinàmàgawin Indigenous Learning Certificate registration is now open for winter 2025! Join to learn more about anti-Indigenous racism in Canada and educational institutions, student supports and how to practice allyship.
To register, please email Lane Bourbonnière with your name and student number.
Educational Costs
Estimating the cost of a year of study varies from student to student and depends on the program and number of credits you are registered in. Tuition and compulsory ancillary/miscellaneous fees include classes, U-Pass, academic, administrative and career support, lab and project resources, library access, athletic facilities and supplemental health plan. The Educational Costs webpage has estimated fees for each program of study at Carleton University.

- Log in to Carleton360 daily through the Current Students website.
- Visit the dates and deadlines webpage for all important registration-related dates.
- Check your Carleton email account regularly - Carleton uses this as a main means of contacting you throughout the academic year.
- If you need to cancel your application to graduate, you can do so through Carleton Central until Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
