Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

COVID-19 UPDATE – Update for residents & families of Calvary Ryde Retirement Community

Following the communication sent to residents and families on 2 January, I am writing to let you know that PCR testing of all Calvary Ryde residents has now been completed in line with Public Health Unit advice, and we are now waiting on these results to be returned. Given the continuing high demand for community testing, we are unfortunately not able confirm a timeframe for when we will receive the results.

In the meantime, Calvary Ryde remains closed for general visitation.

As the test results come to hand, we will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to re-open Calvary Ryde or lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement.

At this time, residents remain well and continue to be cared for in their rooms. We understand that this is a difficult time for our residents and families, and we thank you for your continued support.

Exemptions will be made for special visits for residents receiving end of life care, so please talk with care staff to make specific arrangements. Please do not hesitate to contact the home if you wish to book a video call with your loved one via our WebEx video call service or if you have any concerns.

We anticipate our next update to Calvary Ryde residents and families to be Thursday 6 January, unless there are changes or updates that need to be communicated before then.

Thank you again for your continued understanding at this challenging time.

Sincerely,
