Pioneer PulpitNovember 23 – "Bring Joy! Give Thanks! A Feast of Hymns at 25" ————— Prayer Promise"But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere." Reflecting With Joy: A Feast of Hymns at 25 Kenneth Logan A Feast of Hymns will turn 25 years old this next Sabbath, November 23. Yes, a Feast of Hymns was born on Sabbath, November 23, 1999. Yet unique elements of this PMC Thanksgiving Celebration go back to at least Thanksgiving 1986, when there was a Processional Offering. And then the November 28, 1987 church bulletin acknowledges a “Notes of Thanks Offering.” The first celebration had the heading Bring Joy! Give Thanks! A Feast of Hymns, but also had the unique additional title, "Faith Ablaze! Hymns of Heart and Heritage." On that day in 1999, Andrews University president Niels-Erik Andreasen preached on the topic, "Music, Spirituality, and Worship." Feed the Need We invite you to take part in Feed the Need, Pioneer’s annual Thanksgiving food collection coordinated by the Evergreen Pathfinder Club. Please bring your donation of non-perishable food to church on Sabbath November 23. As part of the service, Pathfinders will collect the food bags during the Procession of Thanksgiving. If you know of a family in the area who needs food this upcoming holiday season call Pioneer at 269.471.6565 to submit their name to receive a food bag/box. 10th Annual 'We Sing' Voice Vespers: November 22 • 7:30 PM Join the AU Department of Music voice students for their annual 'We Sing' Voice Vespers. Offering for November 23, 2024 Michigan Advance Partners “Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”(Exodus 40:34) Years ago, members of Metropolitan Church in Plymouth, Michigan, decided to build a “tabernacle” to praise His holy name! Unfortunate things happen on this side of eternity – sometimes to earthly tabernacles. Regrettably, water dripping from a leaking roof drenched the carpeting in various parts of the church building. This prompted the church to initiate a fundraising campaign for the repairs and updating of the church interior. Livestreaming Schedule9:00 AM ET - Pioneer at Worship Offering |
