It will refer to you as ‘the tenant’ because a leaseholder is a type of tenant. Your lease will include:
Your lease may still have the name of the first-ever leaseholder on it, even if your home has been sold multiple times before. The name on the lease will not change unless a new lease is issued with a lease extension. When a new leaseholder takes over, they typically sign a legal document known as a 'deed of covenant' or a 'licence to assign.' This document serves as an agreement to follow the conditions of the lease.
