Welcome to the Winter Update
Successful UK trip and work is in progress for my new book!
My April visit to the UK was action packed. On top of seeing my two daughters for the first time in over four years and welcoming a brand new grandson to the family, I managed to get in a two day trip to Nottingham where I collected a huge amount of research material for the next Dan Calder book, working title 'MAN. MADE.'
The suburb of West Bridgford lays alongside the famous River Trent and will be the perfect backdrop for what Dan's got in store for you. Meetings and talks with some locals were invaluable to find out some juicy bits of folklore and to tighten up on West Bridgford detail which will really make the book come alive.
I'm back in New Zealand with an even greater sense of 'let's do this!' regarding the next Dan Calder story. With so much ammunition to get stuck into, I was already writing on the plane back from the UK.
I can't wait to share it with you!
Clinical Trial Started
My battle against mental illness has also taken a positive step as I've been enrolled on a year-long clinical trial and so I'm even more motivated if that's possible.
I'll be writing every day now in order to finish the new manuscript, but hopefully I'll still have time for other things, such as meeting with readers groups and even a few bookshop visits.
Group Talks
As New Zealand starts to open up a little more each week and month, the opportunities to meet people again is becoming a possibility.
I'd love to arrange some talks with writers and readers groups, over the next period. I feel it's been too long since I've been able to share my stories with fellow crime fiction fans.
