The Southern Corridor Improvements project is nearing completion. Please find below the schedule for upcoming motorway night closures for the week commencing Sunday 4 July 2021. Please note that closures may change at any time due to weather.

Traffic notices provide a brief overview of temporary night closures and road layout changes for the coming week.

Sunday 4 July – Saturday 10 July

Sunday 4 July & Monday 5 July

Partial closure of Great South Road westbound at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am. Motorists will still be able to travel through Great South Road, but will experience a lane layout change.

Tuesday 6 July - Thursday 8 July

Partial closure of Great South Road eastbound at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am. Motorists will still be able to travel through Great South Road, but will experience a lane layout change.

Upcoming Closures (subject to change)

Sunday 11 July - Thursday 15 July

Partial closure of Great South Road eastbound at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am. Motorists will still be able to travel through Great South Road, but will experience a lane layout change.
Full closure of the Takanini northbound on-ramp between 9pm and 5am.

Looking Ahead

Weather permitting, night time closures will continue intermittently in July, affecting sections of both northbound and southbound lanes of the Southern Motorway between Manukau and Papakura.
