Ordained 15 February 1953 (Port Pirie SA); served Port Pirie SA (1953–1956), Blair Athol SA (1956–1962), New Residence SA (1962–1964), Auckland NZ (1964–1971), Tanunda SA (1971–1975), Doncaster Vic (1975–1982), Footscray Vic/Hospital Chaplain Vic (part-time, 1983–1988), Hospital Chaplain Vic (1988–1993); served part-time at Broken Hill NSW following retirement; retired 31 December 1993; died 16 July 2026 (Footscray Vic); funeral to be announced; mourned by wife Gladys, children David, Richard, Andrew, Judith and Catherine and families Jodi Brook has been appointed as the LCA's new Community Engagement manager, overseeing four ministry areas that support the LCA's mission and engagement with the wider church and community: Lutheran Archives, Communications, the Local Mission Fund and the Church House Exhibition Centre. Dr David Lazarus was ordained as a General Ministry Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church Glynde SA on 12 July 2026 by LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith. Pastor David has been assigned by the College of Bishops to serve Trinity Lutheran Church at Ashmore in Queensland.
