APPE PEDIATRIC ACUTE CARE - COOPER UNIVERSITY HEALTHCARE! Would you like to learn more about pediatric patients in either the general pediatrics unit or the pediatric intensive care unit over at Cooper University HealthCare? Dr. Bradford and Dr. Alm would love to educate on pediatric acute care disease states during your APPE year! No previous pediatric experience necessary! REMINDER: National College Health Assessment closes 12/2! We still need your feedback on the National College Health Assessment! Everyone was emailed their own link to take the survey - you can search your email inbox for the subject line: Last Chance! SJU Health and Wellbeing survey – tell us how you’re doing! There are prizes! Everyone who participates will receive a bookstore coupon and be entered into a raffle for AirPods, Villanova basketball game tickets, an SJU swag bag, magic bullet (for healthy smoothies!) and a 'get out of an SJU parking ticket free' certificate. Participation will help to drive wellness programming and resources for both campuses, and enable us to target specific population needs. ** We especially need to know what will be needed on the University City campus moving forward so we need you!!!!!! ** The survey closes at the end of this week, Friday 12/2. Xcenda internships and research assistant application deadlines - December 31, 2022! These programs are available for rising P1-P3s. Deadline: December 31, 2022. Continuing Announcements

Interested in taking an elective that addressed Toxicology of Drug Abuse? (3 credits)-please contact Dr. Mercier (imercier@sju.edu)! This interdisciplinary 3-credit course allows students to explore topics related to the toxicity of deliberately ingested, inhaled, or injected materials used to alter the psychological state. Students will learn to review the literature and discuss new research and controversial issues in this field. Check out the course objectives HERE! Posted by Dr. Mercier. 11/17

OTC Literacy Competition! OTC Medication Safety and PPA will be hosting our annual OTC Literacy Competition on December 7th at 7:00 PM in STC 145. P1-P3 pharmacy students will team up in groups of 3 to compete in a Jeopardy-style OTC trivia game for a chance to win a special prize and represent PCP at PPA's Annual OTC Competition! For P1 students who attend and participate in the OTC Literacy Competition, they will receive extra credit in the RX350 Self-Care module! If the winning team consists of any P1 students, they will receive double extra credit! For members of the winning team regardless of their academic year, they will each receive some SJU tumblr prizes after the event! Sign your team up by filling out this google form! Free Bootcamp on Clinical Trial Management! SJU has partnered with Stack Education to offer a non-credit Clinical Trial Management Bootcamp program for faculty staff and students. This is a pretty great program. Check it out HERE! Posted by Dean Foote. 11/21

Geisinger Summer Intern Program! Please see the attached letter for information about a Summer Internship Program for rising P3 (or equivalent) students at three Geisinger hospitals. The summer internship is structured to be early exposure to a residency training program and offer those in the role the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skill in a clinical environment.
