Capital Hoops Champions

Carleton Ravens are once again Capital Hoops basketball champions! Congratulations to the women's team for taking home the prize on Friday against our crosstown rivals at uOttawa. Despite a disappointing loss for the men's team, we're proud of their strong game and sportsmanship.

Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, 2025: Winter break. No classes.

 

Winter Break is Almost Here

The winter break is a great time to rest, rejuvenate and regroup for the remainder of the term. With midterms coming up, it’s important to prioritize both your coursework and your wellness. Carleton has many resources to help you stay on track, from academic support and employability to wellness.

During the winter break, the university is closed on Monday, February 17, 2025 for the Family Day holiday. While classes are paused from Tuesday, February 18 to Friday, February 21, 2025, campus remains open.

Carleton’s Free Tax Clinic is Open

Worried about filing your 2024 taxes? Don’t be! The Sprott Tax Students' Association is here to help with their annual tax clinic.

Fill out the tax clinic's client intake form and the team will review to determine if your tax return is within the scope of the clinic. You will be emailed a link to book an appointment between Monday, March 24 and Friday, March 29, 2025.

Update Carleton Mobile App to Version 1.5.0

An updated version of Carleton Mobile is now available to download. The new version includes notifications for students living in residence, bug fixes and general updates.

Board of Governors Award for Outstanding Community Achievement

Do you know a Carleton student who is creating a substantial community contribution through volunteering? Nominate them for the $2,000 Board of Governors Award for Outstanding Community Achievement award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 21, 2025.

Want to live with other amazing people? Interested in a shorter commute? Consider living in residence! Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open.

CAB Events Calendar

The Campus Activity Board (CAB) has released their events calendar for the winter term! New events include Salsa Dance Night and Dodgeball Night.

Career Services has several employer info sessions coming up in February! These include recruitment events with the Communications Security Establishment, summer employment with Ontario Parks and Reckitt summer internships for third-year students.

Virtual Drop-Ins at "How to... From 10 to 2" Sessions

Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) "How to... from 10 to 2" drop-in sessions are now available both in-person and virtually! Join a session for support with any learning or writing-related tasks.

To join a session, visit CSAS in-person at 402 MacOdrum Library, or access the sessions virtually Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Ravens Host Black History Month Speaker Series

Carleton Recreation and Athletics is proud to announce a Black History Month Speaker Series. On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, hear Shauna Bookal speak on her role as president and CEO of the Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network, her journey and the topics of leadership and allyship.

 

Vote in the Ontario Election

Thursday, February 27, 2025 is election day in Ontario. If you are living away from home to attend Carleton, you have two options to vote:

  1. in the electoral district for your permanent home address; or
  2. in the electoral district for your address while attending school.

The Summer Session is Fast Approaching

While it's still cold outside, you may want to start thinking about summer session courses. The summer session is a great time to catch up or get ahead on your studies, and you can start planning now. The summer schedule is now available through Carleton Central (by logging into Carleton360) and registration instructions are up-to-date for the 2025 summer session.

Registration for the summer session begins Wednesday, March 20, 2025 for degree students and Sunday, March 24, 2025 for non-degree students.
