Click here ![]() Call for independent packaging experts ![]() As part of our ongoing engagement on the modulation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging fees, we put out a call in our last edition of the newsletter to put us in touch with independent experts such as academics, researchers, advisers and consultants. We are keen to offer this opportunity to as wide a range of individuals as possible by putting us in touch with anyone fitting this description. For example, obligated producers may have worked with external advisers to help choose new packaging formats, local authorities may have worked with consultants to develop practical recycling strategies, or packaging companies may have worked with academics to help develop new materials. We want to hear from all types of experts, but packaging academics are of particular interest to us. Specifically, we are looking for independent experts in: 1. UK recycling infrastructure and the recyclability of different packaging material formats in practice in the UK context, now and in the future 2. secondary material markets for different materials, their availability and their sensitivity to contamination 3. environmental impacts of different materials, formats and packaging products 4. new materials and packaging formats being developed and likely to come to market in the near future If you have any suggestions, please email our CPR mailbox here marked for the attention of Barbara Leach, with a short description of your area of expertise. Please respond by Friday 10 November 2023. Please encourage your colleagues to sign up to our newsletterPlease click on the button to receive up to date Resources and Waste news |
