Our CEO, Jodie Eastwood (left) and Alison Young from techUK (right), attends the launch of the London Growth Plan in late February.

London’s optimistic future is being shaped right here in the Knowledge Quarter.

The new London Growth Plan, unveiled last week by the Mayor of London, highlights our area as a key driver of productivity. We’re extremely proud to see KQ organisations leading the way (check out a preview of our spotlight case study).

This March, we’re kicking off Women's History Month with three events that highlight the outstanding contributions women make across our incredible network. Our CEO, Jodie Eastwood, will kick off the celebrations at WM College this Friday, alongside some inspiring women from around the KQ. We’re also excited to celebrate groundbreaking progress in women’s health innovation at two upcoming events — one with UCL and another at Impact Hub London Euston.

Lastly, don’t miss our next private view at the magnificent Aga Khan Centre, exploring climate change through art, thanks to the work of three KQ members: the Aga Khan Foundation UK, the Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations and the Institute of Ismaili Studies.

Consider sharing all this goodness with someone who works or lives in the Knowledge Quarter. New here? Sign up directly and stay in the know.

BRUNCH & PANEL

Women’s Health Matters: Innovating for equity in women’s health

10 March | 10:00 AM-11:30 AM | Impact Hub London Euston

Women’s health remains overlooked—misdiagnosed, underfunded, and deprioritised. The UK has the largest female health gap in the G20 (2021), with fewer clinical trials and less pain medication prescribed to women.

This event challenges health innovators and investors to close the gap.

Knowledge Quarter Takes Center Stage in London’s New Growth Plan

"Within ten minutes of our Bloomsbury campus, one of the world’s largest and most collaborative innovation districts is taking shape in the Knowledge Quarter, with huge potential to bring together life sciences, technology, healthcare, and academia in one place." —Dr Michael Spence, President & Provost, UCL (London Growth Plan press release)

The London Growth Plan was released last week, outlining a strategy to boost London’s economy by £107 billion over the next decade.

The Mayor’s vision for inclusive growth and for declaring frontier innovation (especially in life sciences, AI, and green technology) as London’s "new superpower" isn't just a theory — it’s the reality that we’re building every day in the Knowledge Quarter.

Here’s what our CEO, Jodie Eastwood, said of the Plan:

“As CEO of Knowledge Quarter, I’m proud to see the role that our innovation district will play in this transformation. The Plan rightly recognises the power of London’s knowledge economy, from life sciences and AI to the creative industries and quantum computing, all underpinned by our academic excellence. By investing in talent, unlocking new spaces for innovation, and backing business growth, we can help make London’s economy £107 billion larger by 2035.”

Continue reading to discover the six other innovation districts across London that we stand with to bolster our economy.

    PR THROWBACK

“It has really grown on me… This is in a unique place in the world.”

That’s how Pushmeet Kohli, head of research at Google DeepMind, described the Knowledge Quarter after moving to London from India's Doon Valley, in an article published by The Times in 2023 that called us as ‘An Ideas Factory for the UK.’
