The Yackandandah Folk Festival is just around the corner on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 March. The festival team are calling on musicians of all ages and abilities to grab their instruments and join the High Street Shufflers as they lead the official opening parade on Friday night. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just keen to be part of the fun, this is your chance to march, play and soak up incredible community spirit. Sign up here. Thank you to Catherine Stewart of Artshed 41 for delighting our visual senses in the main street over the past month with her incredible artwork displayed in the Post Office/Info Centre windows. Hello Beechworth, Although February is feeling a little slow across the region, March is shaping up to be a huge month, with a multiple exciting events bringing the region to life. Things kick off on Saturday 7 March with the Beechworth Farmers Market and Spring Ditch, a much-loved local celebration of music and community, before art lovers immerse themselves in the Beechworth Biennale from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 March, where creativity spills into streets, galleries and unexpected spaces across town. Rounding out the month, The High Country Hop on Saturday 28 March delivers a weekend of live music, great vibes and classic country hospitality, making it the perfect excuse for a day out.

Beechworth Biennale Saturday 7 to Monday 9 March The Beechworth Biennale is an exciting art event held in Beechworth every two years. Visitors can experience exciting and unique site artworks across various sites throughout the town. The artists create artwork which will reflect on Beechworth's past by responding to the physicality of the site and engage with the conceptual layers and interpretations inherent within the site.
Guided bus tours and Artist Discussion panels are also part of the program. Don't miss this free, family-friendly art and culture event. Plus, join the Biennalle team on Friday 6 March for the Official Welcome Party and party with the artists and official guests.

Regional Events Fund The Regional Events Fund supports events that bring thousands of visitors to regional Victoria, delivering economic impact, creating jobs, and supporting local business. The Fund backs festivals, culinary, sporting and cultural events that showcase the vibrancy of Victoria’s regions. Regional events highlight the incredible tourism offerings available throughout the state and bolster Victoria’s reputations as a world-class events destination. Private companies, councils, Regional Tourism Boards/Visitor Economy Partnerships and not-for-profit organisations are invited to submit applications for events that meet the eligibility criteria and program objectives detailed in the Regional Events Fund Guidelines. Stream 2 applications close on Monday 23 March 2026.
