Tech Savvy Seniors: Introduction to the Internet - Part 2

Wednesday 30 March, 10am - 12.15pm, Computer Training Room

Join one of our training sessions to learn how to get online and then build your digital skills. This session expands on what was covered in Part 1 of our Introduction to the Internet workshop. Tech Savvy Seniors NSW is a partnership between the NSW Government, the State Library of NSW and Telstra.

Cassy and Michael Bartolomei Concert

Friday 1 April, 11am - 12pm, Theatrette

Join us for Songs of Nostalgia, a musical celebration of favourite classics from the 40's, 50's and 60s. From Cole Porter to Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Cassy Darvall will sing the hits and will be accompanied by her highly accomplished, jazz pianist husband, Michael Bartolomei. Cassy has been a professional performer for over 30 years singing at major public events.

Film screening: My Generation

Friday 25 March, 11am - 12.30pm Theatrette

Take a trip down memory lane with actor Michael Caine as he reflects back on the music, movies, fashion and art of the 1960's. Featuring archival footage of Swinging London and voiceovers of now iconic celebrities including Paul McCartney, Twiggy and Marianne Faithfull. Morning tea  will be provided.

Author Talk: Will Kostakis

Monday 4 April, 4 - 5 pm

Will Kostakis grew up writing story drafts in the corner of Waverley Library. Now an acclaimed author for young adults, Will shares his journey - from how he got published in high school, to how he writes his books. He'll be sharing tips and tricks for aspiring authors, answering questions and giving away books.

Blackout Poetry

Tuesday 5 April, 4 - 5 pm

Blackout poetry is the treasure hunt of poetry. You find words that catch your interest from a newspaper, book, or magazine. You then “blackout” the words you don’t want, creating your own poem. Not only will you become a poet for the day, but also an artist as we take the poem and create a collage around it with a variety of mixed media. This is great for all teens.
