Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Week 8!
End of the School Day - If you are not picking up your child at the end of the school day, could parents please phone the school and let us know who will be picking up your child. Also, we would appreciate it, if parents could make sure their child knows how they will be getting home each day, this saves a lot of confusion and sometimes tears at the end of the school day.
School Crossing - A reminder that everyone crossing Anderson Street MUST use the school crossing. This includes parents coming to collect students. Anderson Street is a very busy street and we all need to use the crossing to keep our students safe.
Junior Excursion - On Friday 23rd April, Foundation to Year 2 students will be going on an excursion to Riverlinks in Shepparton to see “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. Parents are required to go on to PAM, give permission and pay $10 for the excursion. The school has heavily subsidised the cost of
the excursion, as we were unaware of the production when we setting the school fees last year.
Uniform Reminders - A reminder that students are to be wearing green socks, except on sport days, and that long hair needs to be tied back. Scrunchies in school colours can be worn. School shoes need to be black and polishable. Thank you for your support with this.
Bluearth Golf Day - This Friday is the Bluearth Golf Day at the Euroa Golf Club. Funds from this day will help pay for the Bluearth Program in our school. There are a few tickets left, so please contact Jimmy Ivill jivill@bluearth.org if you would like to take part in the day.

Peace and best wishes,
Libby Hamilton

Week 7 Prayer

Lent is a season of the Church’s Liturgical Year. Lent is commonly referred to as a 40-day period but there are actually 46 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Saturday. It is a time of preparation and prayer leading to the Easter Season.  The number "40" has always had special spiritual significance regarding preparation. On Mount Sinai, preparing to receive the Ten Commandments, "Moses stayed there with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights, without eating any food or drinking any water" (Ex 34:28). Elijah walked "40 days and 40 nights" to the mountain of the Lord, Mount Horeb (another name for Sinai) (IKgs 19:8). Most importantly, Jesus fasted and prayed for "40 days and 40 nights" in the desert before He began His public ministry (Mt 4:2). Saunders, Rev. William. "History of Lent." Arlington Catholic Herald During Lent the tradition has been to focus on 3 key aspects: Prayer, Fasting – (Penance, Sacrifice), Almsgiving – (self-giving)

God of infinite love,
I thank you for this reminder of your love
and your call that we be more patient,
gentle and compassionate with others.
Here in the middle of Lent,
I turn to you to beg for your help.
Please soften my heart.
Help me to let go of judging others.
I ask you this, in Jesus' name.
