Mina Wylie and Fanny Durack were the very first Australian women to compete in the Olympic Games and went on to win gold and silver at the Stockholm Games in 1912. Saturday 5 March, 6 pm, Sydney Cricket Ground Moore Park ALIA is proud to sponsor the very first library industry entry into the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2022. Marchers will be dressed as large, colourful and identifiable LGBTQI books. Books help to shine a light over our lives and our experiences. United we Shine is the theme of this year’s Mardi Gras Festival. Waverley Library staff members will be joining the parade, come and help us celebrate! |

![]() Book Babies & Story Time Fun Starting Monday 14 March The Children’s Library is excited to announce the return of our emergent literacy programs. Book babies introduces your babes in arms to the magic and joy of stories and rhymes while for those toddlers and preschool aged children Story Time Fun will capture their imaginations with stories and craft. Tickets will be released on Eventbrite each Friday the week before the programs. More information coming soon. |
