Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome to Week 10!

Condolences - Please take time to read the letter that was emailed to families yesterday and keep Lockie Dowell and his family in your thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

School Closure Day- Friday 10th Dec - This Friday 10th December is a school closure day for teachers to plan together for the 2022 school year. TheirCare will be running in the Mercy Centre, if you are interested, please go to TheirCare.com.au to book your child in.

Swimming Program - For this week and part of next, we will be running our swimming program. Please make sure you read the timetable that was sent home last week, so you know which days that your child/ren are swimming. Students must have a rashie or a t-shirt otherwise they will not be permitted to swim.

Statewide Transition Day  - Today is Statewide Transition Day, so students will move up to the next year level and spend time with their 2022 Homeroom teacher. It was great to see all the new Foundation students so happy to be at school. We also had a number of students across most year levels join us today too and we look forward to getting to know them more, we hope they felt welcome at our school.

School Advisory Council Dinner - Last Tuesday night we had our School Advisory Council dinner, where the Council members met our new Principal, Therese Stewart. It was great that Therese was able to take the time to come along to the meeting and her efforts at making the transition from one Principal to another as smooth as possible. Thank you to all School Advisory Council members for their support this year and I look forward to working with you all again at few more meetings than we had this year.

Week 10 Prayer

The story of four candles: Love, Peace, Faith & Hope.

Four candles slowly burned. The ambiance was so soft, one could almost hear them talking.

The first candle said: “I am Peace!” “The world is so full of anger and fighting. Nobody can keep me lit.”

Then the flame of Peace went out completely.

The second candle said: “I am Faith!” “I am no longer indispensable. It doesn’t make any sense that I stay lit another moment.”

Just then a breeze softly blew Faith’s flame.

Sadly, the third candle began to speak: “I am Love!” “People don’t understand my importance, so they simply put me aside. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.” And waiting no longer Love’s flame went out.

Suddenly… A child entered the room and saw the three unlit candles. “Why aren’t you burning? You’re supposed to stay lit till the end.” Saying this the little child started to cry.

Then the fourth candle answered: “Don’t be afraid, I am Hope!” “while I am still burning, we can re-light the other candles. With shining eyes, the child took the candle of hope and lit the other candles.

The greatest of these is love…                                                                           …but the flame of Hope should never go out of your life!  With hope each of us can live with Peace, faith and Love
