Learner-centred teaching in technical and vocational education and training: perspectives and reviews of six Asia-Pacific Countries UNESCO Office Bangkok and Regional Bureau for Education in Asia and the Pacific The report presents a review of the theoretical background of the learner-centred approach and TVET teaching with an international scope. A total of 25 indicators were used to assess three components of TVET teaching in the region. The analysis includes 17 examples corresponding to the selected indicators. The findings showcase lessons learned and recommendations for countries to self-assess
their TVET teaching strategies. These examples will help to inform future projects and capacity building in each sub-region of Asia-Pacific.
Digital Futures Commission Sonia Livingstone, Kruakae Pothong
& Beeban Kidron This report addresses and goes beyond the hygiene factors of safety, privacy and security to rethink how technology can benefit children. The report prioritises three themes: free play in a digital world, beneficial uses of education data,
and designing for children’s rights.
Education Policy Outlook in Australia OECD This report on Australia offers a concise analysis of where the education system stands today and how this compares to other systems. The profile analyses the evolution of ongoing and emerging related policy efforts in Australia, including education responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Number confidence and social mobility Claire Tyers & Jane Aston This report examined the connection between improving numeracy and opportunities in work; the role number confidence plays in supporting adults with low numeracy to get on a path to a Level 2 maths qualification (equivalent to GCSE maths grade C/4); and the efficacy of the National Numeracy Challenge in helping to improve outcomes towards qualifications and work.
VET delivery in regional, rural and remote Australia: barriers and facilitators Tabatha Griffin & Upekha Andrahannadi This report conveys findings on how Australia's training system could better meet the needs of regional, rural and remote Australians, with the project focusing on the following: 1. understanding how various stakeholders in the VET system perceive local skills needs in regional, rural, and remote locations
2. understanding the current barriers to delivering VET in regional, rural and remote locations and if/how these are overcome.
We believe no child should be constrained by stereotypes or the expectations of others. We know that if young people hear firsthand about the world of work, they work harder, get better grades and are more likely to break down barriers. They should have the chance to start as early as possible, and that is why we launched the national I am #InspiringTheFuture campaign.
