Responding to YouWe continue to respond to what you told us about what you wanted to know – you said that: You wanted to learn about our services – we will be providing a focus on a service in each edition – in this edition we are highlighting our services to children and young people . You wanted to help improve services – you can do this in a number of ways – by becoming a member, volunteer, joining our Patient and Carer Experience forums, and engaging with your Governor. You wanted to see what activities you can become involved in - our webpage provides a calendar of events – take a look and join in! - these include our PACE – Patient and Carer Experience meetings Recent Trust NewsOutstanding murals bring our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit courtyard to lifeFollowing some brilliant work completed at our Avondale Assessment Unit, local artist, Skeg, recently completed two more outstanding murals in our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) courtyards. We have been chosen as one of three Trusts nationally to pilot NHSX Digital programme for mental health servicesWe have been selected of one of seven Trusts across the UK to participate in the NHSX Digital Aspirant Plus (DA+) programme, one of just three in the mental health and community services sectors. Initially, we will be taking on the programme within our mental health services, which cover a patch across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. Recognition for Hull Mental Health Support Teams at the Hull Live Golden Apples AwardsHull Mental Health Support Teams has been recognised at the Hull Live Golden Apple awards for its work to provide mental health and wellbeing support to children, young people, parents and education staff in schools and colleges across Hull. The new NHS service was awarded the ‘Wellbeing Award’ at this week’s event, which saw education staff, children and young people gather to celebrate the talent, skills and hard work that goes into teaching and providing education in Hull and East Riding. SMASH team partners with local schools to plant more treesOur Hull & East Riding Social Mediation And Self Help (SMASH) team work in local schools to help support young people with their mental health and wellbeing. The latest development from our SMASH team is their Tree4Life Project, which is where they work with their partnered schools to plant trees on the school grounds, for young people to enjoy on their breaks and feel a part of positive group work. VolunteeringBecome a Volunteer!Volunteers are an important part of our Trust and joining our organisation as a volunteer is a great way to learn new skills and improve your own wellbeing whilst supporting our patients, carers and staff. If you are able to offer commitment and enthusiasm then we may have the role for you!
