NRB Members Encourage Evangelical Participation in 2024 Elections Two Evangelical Christian advocacy groups, Christians Engaged and Family Policy Alliance Foundation (FPAF), recently merged to form a new organization with the goal to engage 1 million Christians in the upcoming U.S. presidential election and local elections nationwide. By combining their efforts, the organizations hope to drive cultural and legislative change in support of biblical values. Christians Engaged, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization and NRB member, mobilizes Christian engagement in public life. The FPAF, the educational arm of the Family Policy Alliance, which was founded by NRB member Focus on the Family, boasts a network of allies in nearly 40 states and focuses on pro-family education and alliance-building. “Together, we will train elected officials nationwide to view policy through the lens of the Bible and ensure victories on issues affecting families, life, and religious freedom,” said Craig DeRoche, FPAF’s president and CEO. Association Updates and Insights at Exclusive Online Summit for NRB Members On July 25, NRB members from across the country and around the world attended a virtual summit moderated by Melissa Sturgis, National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Director of Membership, and packed with valuable information from NRB leaders who provided updates on key areas, including legal issues, public policy, and the upcoming 2025 NRB Convention. Members also participated in sector-specific breakout sessions led by NRB committee members, providing a great point of connection and relationship building for professionals working in various sectors of Christian media. NRB President and CEO Troy A. Miller gave an executive update on the state of the association. “God has put us in a wonderful position,” Miller said. “He’s continued to bless us both financially and operationally, with great staff to execute our mission and our influence on Capitol Hill within the areas that are important to our members.” Freedoms Journal Institute Hosts 2024 Black Conservative Summit The Freedom’s Journal Institute (FJI), an NRB member, recently announced the upcoming Black Conservative Summit (BCS), to be held from September 6–8, 2024 in St. Charles, Ill. Dr. Eric Wallace, president and co-founder of FJI, has invited a diverse coalition of speakers and attendees for the event. The BCS aims to gather the largest group of Black conservative leaders, elected officials, pastors, and activists under the theme “Black America at a Crossroads: Cultural Marxism vs. A Biblical Worldview.” The BCS 2024 speakers will provide valuable insights and perspectives on the importance of conservative principles within the Black community, including celebrating their church heritage, cultural strength, and family values in alignment with America’s tradition of liberty and democracy.
