Celebrate Pride by Day
City of Palmerston is hosting a variety fun and engaging FREE activities at PRIDE by day, before our On Frances Pride Street Party!
Prepare yourself for bingo with a fabulous rainbow twist and a comedy workshop that will have you laughing till your sides ache! After the comedy workshop, get ready for the Writers Workshop, where creativity flourishes and stories come to life! And to add an extra touch of magic to the occasion, Fairy Jill will be there, sprinkling glitter and transforming your gorgeous faces into works of art. Join acclaimed Territory author & playwright Sean Guy on a journey into the world of storytelling. As a recipient of the Young Territory Author Award, Sean knows firsthand what it takes to unleash your creative potential. In this workshop, for young people aged 14-18, Sean will share his insights, tips and techniques to help you craft compelling narratives that will captivate readers and spark your imagination.
Learn more about the art of storytelling as Sean gives insight into his own work, drawing from his four published novels and award-winning play. Sharing his experiences Sean will give you an overview of the intricacies of creating engaging characters, building immersive worlds, crafting compelling plots and writing practice.

Creative Industries Palmerston
Artist Residency 2023
City of Palmerston is seeking applications for the Creative Industries Artist Residency 2023. This program supports local artists and creatives in the Performing Arts e.g. dance, theatre, spoken word, comedy, and provides a space to develop their professional goals and practice.
The successful Artist/s will be provided access to the Community Room at Durack Community Arts Centre for four (4) weeks, commencing on 26 June 2023. In addition, they will receive $9,000 to support their Residency.
The program is open to individual artists, partnerships, and collectives, especially locally based artists and/or those with a strong connection to the Palmerston community.

CREATIVE PALMERSTON WORKSHOPS
We are excited to host a series of creative arts workshops in June 2023 with three renowned Top End Artists and Facilitators. Workshops are being held by Aly de Groot, Janie Andrews and Sachi Hirayama, covering a range of weaving activities, mosaic creation and origami making.
Workshops will be held at, Durack Community Arts Centre, 33 Packard Avenue, Durack, Palmerston.
All workshops require bookings and costs vary. Details on each workshop and can be found at the link below.
