Ō2NL design update - information now available online
Between Wednesday 21 May and Thursday 29 May we’re hosting a series of drop-in sessions to share an update on the Ō2NL highway design ahead of construction which is planned to start in spring this year.
Over the last few months since the RMA approvals for the project were granted, our team have been developing the detailed design of the new highway. This has taken into consideration a range of aspects, including a greater understanding of ground conditions from recent site investigations, and anticipated construction costs and complexity. In some areas, after investigating potential alternatives, we're looking to make some adjustments to the design.
While some changes are proposed, the project objectives remain unchanged - to provide a safer, more resilient, and more reliable transport corridor that supports economic growth across the region.
