Parents and Friends, Welcome to the end of the spring semester! To the parents of graduating seniors, congratulations! This will be the last Parent email of the academic year, and communications will resume in August. Here are a few quick updates about upcoming events:
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at parents@tlu.edu.
Sierra Smith, Director of First Year Experience & Student Transitions May 9 | Spring CommencementOn May 9 at 7 p.m., the Bulldog community will gather on the library lawn to celebrate the Class of 2026 as they cross the stage and begin their next chapter. We’re proud to welcome our newest graduates into the TLU Alumni Association—a lifelong Bulldog family.
First-Gen CeremonyThank you to all of our families and supporters for making this year’s graduation celebration so meaningful for our first-generation students! Your encouragement, presence, and support helped honor the hard work, resilience, and achievements of every graduate. We are grateful to celebrate this milestone together and look forward to continuing to support our first-generation community in the years ahead. TLU + TimelyCareAll Texas Lutheran students have access to TimelyCare. This virtual health and well-being platform offers 24/7 virtual care at no cost to students anywhere in the US. They can diagnose and even call in prescriptions to your local pharmacy. Students can download the app in their app store or visit TimelyCare’s website. May is Mental Health Awareness Month!May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Counseling Services has three ways students can show support: 1) wear green, 2) check out @tlucounseling on Instagram to show how you have “more good days," and 3) take our mental health survey. Students taking summer courses should also remember to send their letters detailing the accommodations they need before classes begin. They can do so through the student portal. TLU Food PantryWe had a fantastic year and are thrilled to continue serving students through our food pantry. The pantry will remain open over the summer for students living on or near campus, with restocking occurring twice a week and larger restocks happening twice a month. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall as we prepare for Welcome Week and Gold Rush Week. Water to ThriveThe Center for Servant Leadership (CSL) closes out another great academic year by congratulating the Water to Thrive Student Club on living the TLU mission of service to others. The annual dinner and auction held in April was an outstanding and impactful event. Generous auction donations led to a record of 31 items and over $2,800 has been raised (and still growing) to fund the 12th TLU water well in Africa—an incredible reflection of service in action. Donations are welcome, and make sure to indicate TLU Water Well. Center for Servant Leadership TranscriptSeniors graduating in May are encouraged to download their CSL Servant Leader Transcript from GivePulse. Their resume, TLU academic transcript, and servant-leadership record together create a powerful package that positions them for successful employment. For questions or assistance, please contact the CSL Director Dr. Pam Ray, at pray@tlu.edu or 830-372-8162. Summer Courses | Online Academic SupportOnline academic support is available for students taking classes this summer at TLU. Students can log into MyTLU and navigate to Brightspace. A link to Brainfuse Online Tutoring is accessible on any course in Brightspace. Individual consultation is also available throughout the summer terms for students in need of assistance with study skills. Email the Office of Student Success. We are here to help!
Career DevelopmentThe Office of Career Development was so happy to serve your students this semester.
